Publisher Comments:

Both Elisha (Ellie) and Jeremiah (Miah) attend Percy Academy, a private school where neither quite fits in. Ellie is wrestling with family demons, and Miah is one of the few African American students. The two of them find each other, and fall in love — but they are hesitant to share their newfound happiness with their friends and families, who will not understand. At the end, life makes the brutal choice for them: Jeremiah is shot and killed, and Ellie now has to cope with the consequences..

Synopsis:

A new love is special and rare, but the world around Ellie and Miah doesn't see it like that. All they see is race: Miah is black and Ellie is Jewish. Will their love survive? An ALA Best Book for Young Adults. A BCCB Blue Ribbon Book.

I read this book when I was in 8th grade, and I loved it ever since. They have such a strong bond together it makes you feel like true love it real and that it shouldn't matter on your race, religion, or anything. I like how the two main characters come from two different worlds and how they meet, its like love at first sight. I started to believe in seeing love at first sight after reading this book. while reading it it would make you feel really happy about how love it. At the end, it is a different stroy. When he gets shot, it made me cry because you can feel like passion between the two lovers and then you feel how horriable it would be to lose the person who is perfect for you. I would reccomend this book to anyone who loves romances, tragedies, or just anyone who loves to read books about teens lives.
