About the Author

Jennifer Wider is a doctor and medical journalist who was formerly managing editor of the ivillage Health Channel website, and is currently a news service reporter for the Society for Women's Health Research, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of women. Her column for SWHR covers a variety of women's health/medical topics and is syndicated to newspapers, magazines, and websites across the country. She lives with her physician husband, and daughter and son, in Westport, Connecticut.
