Series Description
Kare Kano originally published in Japan as Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou is a modern manga masterpiece. The story began appearing in Feburary of 1996 in Hakusensha's monthly
LaLa magazine and was collected thereafter in tankoubon (graphic novel) form in the Hana to Yume Comics line. As of this writing (August 2002), there are 13 volumes in print in Japan, and Kare Kano continues to be one of the top-selling manga series in that country.
Hideaki Anno and GAINAX (the creators of Neon Genesis Evangelion) produced an animated version of Kare Kano which comprised 26 TV episodes and is now being released in the U.S. as His and Her Circumstances.
