I read this book years ago - it is terrific! He actually foretold the use of the internet. He called it a 'web' as well in his book - I thought it was very good sci fy for being set only 50 years ahead. The earth has to all get along to overcome a threat from our actual planet. The planet's core - and people have to figure out how to work together and fix it. It was a good idea.

I was in the Multnomah County jail recently, and had very little time to grab a book before lockdown. I grabbed this one and got back to my cell. I opened the book and on the title page, two previous inmates had written reviews, both negative. They said the story took forever to take off and there were too many different threads to keep track of and the story didn't pay off in the end. Luckily I was only in for the night and didn't get the opportunity to read the whole book. The next chance I got, I grabbed a book of short stories by Asimov.
