About the Author
Richard L. Bitner is a garden writer and photographer whose work has appeared in numerous national and regional magazines. He studied horticulture at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, where for many years he has been an instructor in the Continuing Education program. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's Gold Medal Plant Award Committee, and has made it his mission to promote the appreciation and use of conifers. His previous Timber Press books are Conifers for Gardens and Timber Press Pocket Guide to Conifers.
