A page-turner,rare for a history book. I could not put it down until I finished at 2 AM last night. This is a thoughtful story of Peace & War & Peace again which leads to War[WWII],again. Published in 1971 but does not feel dated partly due to the many "primary" sources: Excerpts from many who were involved. Easy reading for a high schooler; great read for anyone older. Jantzen wrote this while working on a Ph.D. on history at Princeton. His dissertation was the first major effort to understand the effects of WWI on politics in the USA.
