The Color of Magic

by Terry Pratchett

The Color of Magic Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Terry Pratchett's profoundly irreverent novels are consistent number one bestsellers in England, where they have garnered him a revered position in the halls of parody next to Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, and Carl Hiaasen.

The Color of Magic is Terry Pratchett's maiden voyage through the now-legendary land of Discworld. This is where it all begins--with the tourist Twoflower and his wizard guide, Rincewind.

Review:

"Pratchett has now moved beyond the limits of humorous fantasy, and should be recognized as one of the more significant contemporary english language satirists." Publishers Weekly

Review:

"Unadulterated Fun. . . . Witty, Frequently Hilarious."(-- San Francisco Chronicle)

Synopsis:

On a world supported on the back of a giant turtle (sex unknown), a gleeful, explosive, wickedly eccentric expedition sets out. There's an avaricious but inept wizard, a naive tourist whose luggage moves on hundreds of dear little legs, dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and of course THE EDGE of the planet...

Here are your keys to the book that started it all. Here is sci-fi fantasy meeting satire heads up. It does not really matter where you take up the Disc World stories at, but why not at the beginning? Enjoy!
