NOTES FROM THE RARE BOOK ROOM SPECIALIST:
American painter Elizabeth Willis DeHuff (1886 – 1983) honored Native American
folklore and imagery by using them in her books and artwork. She taught painting to
students enrolled in the Sante Fe Indian School in the early 1900’s. She continued to write
books for children until 1977.
Condition:
Boards edgeworn; corners bumped. Cloth frayed along bottom edge. Pink endpapers. Previous bookseller’s label to rear pastedown. Binding shaken. Rear hinge cracked. Binding cracked internally. Lacking the dustjacket.
